Urban energy systems, combined heat and power systems or digitalisation: researchers can now submit papers on these and similar topics for the 18th International Symposium on District Heating and Cooling. The event takes place under the auspices of the IEA's District Heating and Cooling (DHC) technology programme.

The 18th International Symposium on District Heating and Cooling will take place (DHC2023) from 3 to 6 September 2023 in Beijing, China. The aim of the symposium is to explore the development opportunities and problems of the district heating and cooling industry, share innovative research results, promote international technical exchange and achieve green, efficient and smart development of the global district heating and cooling industry.

The Scientific Committee and the Organising Committee are now inviting abstracts for DHC2023. All submitted papers will be reviewed by the Symposium Scientific Committee for their relevance to the theme, originality, technical quality and merit. Selected submissions will be invited to prepare an extended version. Accepted and presented submissions will be summarised in proceedings of a scientific journal.  The three best submissions will receive a prize of 1,000 euros. The sponsor for this is the Technology Initiative IEA DHC.

Deadline for abstracts: 20 March 2023
Notification of acceptance of abstract: 5 April 2023
Symposium date: 3-6 September 2023
