The International Energy Agency's Technology Collaboration Program for District Heating and Cooling (IEA-TCP DHC) is looking for projects that make energy systems more digital, profitable, or flexible. And, of course, emission-free.

Projects dealing with innovative energy technologies between May 2023 and April 2026 are eligible to apply. The focus is on the following topics:

  • District Heating and Cooling in the post-fossil era: emission-free and resource-efficient energy systems
  • Flexibility: leveraging the increasing value of flexibility in energy systems
  • Digitalization: using digital platforms and methods from planning to operation
  • Business models: business models that make zero-emission technologies profitable
  • Tariff structures: pricing in energy systems that incorporate diverse generators and reward flexibility
  • Sub-stations: Innovative technologies for low-temperature systems

There are two steps to applying: Interested parties must submit a two-page project description by February 2023 and, if positive, develop a full project proposal by May 2023. (pj)

All information about the call can be found on the IEA DHC page.
